Description:
The Seaman Catamaran Ferry 53 ( SMCF 53) is powered by two electric engines with two battery
banks á 1.152 tonne weight. The two18 inch diameter propellers will be placed in tunnel.
The vessel is designed to be running a distance of around 2 km in continuous traffic and plugged in
to shore power for 15 minutes charging between the distances.
The minimum speed will be around 6.5 knots.
For the 72 passengers there will be a port and starboard entrance and two additional safety exits.
For the staff there is one small toilet and sink with a 500 litre freshwater and a 500 litre waste water
tank.The passengers are seated in a closed cabin that will be air-conditioned from shore power
during the stops.
At the rear end there is a 16.5 sq. meter area with possibility to roll in goods from a behind ramp.
The hull and the superstructure are composed of polyester reinforced fibreglass certified by Lloyd's
Register of Shipping.
